Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction
Opening of Online Dialogues on 27 August 2012

As part of the consultations on a post-2015 framework for disaster riskreduction, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) ispleased to announce the opening of the first round of online dialogues fromMonday 27 August to Friday 30 November 2012. These dialogues will be the firstround of a series of online consultations that UNISDR will arrange before theWorld Conference on Disaster Reduction in 2015 in Japan.

We are interested in your views on the future of the post-2015 framework fordisaster risk reduction and encourage you to participate in the process. The results of the online dialogues will help provide the substance for apost-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction.

The dialogues will be professionally facilitated.  The background paperTowards a Post-2015 Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction (available through thewebsite below) outlines the trends and progress in disaster risk reductionwhile identifying ongoing and future challenges as well as other substantiveissues that need to be addressed.  The paper also explains the process ofnational, regional and stakeholder consultations.
