Government of Saint Lucia Helps Dominica with Supplies
By NEMO Saint Lucia @ 9:16 AM :: 3144 Views :: Article Rating

Saint Lucia has been swift in responding to the plight of the Commonwealth of Dominica, particularly those who suffered loss or were displaced as a result of the passage of Tropical Storm Erika on August 27, 2015.

Saint Lucia fully understands the physical, social and psychological impact of such devastation on communities and island nations and therefore pledges its full support to recovery efforts.

Among its first steps, the Government of Saint Lucia, through the National Emergency Management Organization, has donated sixty (60) boxes of supplies, including forty (40) boxes of hygiene kits, to the Office of Disaster Management (ODM) in Dominica. The Ministry of Health has also provided twenty (20) boxes of medical supplies.

These supplies will be distributed to the impacted population by the ODM. The items will accompany a contingent from the Marine Unit of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, deployed by Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony at the request of the Dominica Police Force, to assist them with their operations.

As of Monday, NEMO will be embarking on a relief supplies drive to help gather much-needed clothing, food, household items and other necessities for Dominica.

Additionally, bank accounts have been established at the following financial institutions to facilitate cash donations by individuals and corporate entities. Persons wishing to make a cash donation can do so at the following accounts in the name of the Government of Saint Lucia:
